There is nothing more powerful to me than a redemption story

Some of the best stories are about character redemption. All I want is to see is the journey. It doesn’t have to take a long time. I want characters to say more than they are sorry. I want them to take action and not expect the people they hurt to accept them overnight, but I don’t want the victim to be angry and afraid of the villain one moment and the next moment they are buddy buddy or even in a sexual relationship. Soap history is full of people who started out villainous and ended up victorious. The best stories showed the evolution. The worst told stories treat fans like children… the character change because we said so. I don’t know Sheila’s future, but I think the show has done a far better job with her transition than with others. I still wonder if the brilliantly maniacal Shelia set up this whole Sugar thing, but her behavior has changed over a long period of time. Her possible change is believable.

So you think Shelia’s redeemable now? I find it amuseing Shelia’s redeemable to many yet Tom’s not…it amazes me …I guess it depends on who is more sexy or entertaining…I allways liked naughtie bill nowcreduced to lunch bill..naughtie makes good soap….jmo

I do not know if Sheila’s totally redeemable. It’s just more believable because of what was consistently shown. Thomas and Sheila were involved in varying degrees of keeping a baby away from parents for selfish gain. On that count, I personally see them as the same. According to story though, Hope decided Thomas had changed in six weeks. I take Hopes word for nothing. She went from being angry with Thomas to lusting for him in 6 weeks show time. She went from telling Liam that no matter what anyone says, she loves him totally to throwing herself at Thomas. Even Thomas left town not knowing what to make of Hope and her actions. He said the first time you told me you loved me is when you turned me down. It seems to me that the show over relied on Hopes feelings about Thomas. Thomas needs his own story. Sheila has had her own story, even if she’s still a maniac, they have consistently shown her trying to be better.
